I birded the native forest area at Barnes before work this AM, thinking that the front might have brought in some migrants. Right after entering, I was greeted by an Ovenbird and a male Black-throated Blue Warbler. Near the Butterfly Garden I enjoyed a warbler wave of several Blackpolls, female Black-throated Blue, Palm Warblers, two male Cape Mays, Common Yellowthroat, and, yay, a female Bay-breasted. Near the Boardwalk I added Prairies and Redstarts, and the tenth species was a lone N. Parula at the Nature Center. I encountered small warbler flocks throughout, a great start to the day.

Good birding,
Susan
