Sorry for the late post , but I was engrossed in preparing for the VICA-Skills USA state plumbing contest and couldn't pull myself away to make this report. Around noon on Monday, April 26, 2004, Jimmy and Dorothy McHaney from Husser, Louisiana called me to report a LaSagra's Flycatcher that they found at the Long Key State Recreation Area (Pranty's pgs. 249 & 250), where the boardwalk meets the nature trail. Jimmy reported all of the key field marks in his field notes and felt comfortable reporting this rare Bahamian vagrant.Earlier in the day, they searched for the Western Spindalis at Dagney Johnson Key Largo Botanical site, but were unable to relocate it. He did report Black-whiskered Vireos in the area. Still have this species singing around my house in the Gardens.

Life is good..........................as the Caribbean vagrants begin to reappear in South Florida.
