Last Saturday, about 20 people met for the TAS bird walk at Cape Fla./Bill Baggs St. Park. Park Ranger Liz Golden was kind enough to allow us access to the lighthouse grounds, which has the right kinds of native vegetation to attract all kinds of migratory birds. The winds were not in our favor, however, and birding remained slow throughout the walk. We had only a handful of warbler species, and the late morning heat became rather oppressive as we tracked back and forth across the park. A couple of highlights were Northern Waterthrush by the lighthouse stream and Wilson's Plover on the island by the planted mangroves.
