Heyy birders! Breeding season is going very good around my neighborhood. So far out of my 4 nest boxes three are being used. One by starlings:(, the second by the Eastern Screech Owls and the last one by a red-bellied woodpecker(downy sized box). Another red-bellied is fighting with starlings to take control of the cavity he built himself in the fices tree.
I also had 2 Yellow-chevroned Parakeets in my feeder! I fianlly had a Pileated Woodpecker enlarging a hole in the intersection of 84st and 54ave. Unfortunetely this afternoon i did see it. I only found the pair od red-bellied which where there before.
Finally I had a red-bellied(male) injured today in my driveway. At first I thought it was dead but I was wrong. I immediately called a local Rehabilatator and broguth it to them. It apparently was poisoned. Well I hope its doing fine with them.
If anyone wants to see the resident Eastern-Screech owls. Please e-mail me at funfelipe12@yahoo.com or felipeg1589@hotmail.com Its very good for photos.
