Bear Lake Trail was pretty slow today, with 8 warbler species tallied. Highlights included a Gray Kingbird feeding on Gumbo Limbo fruit in the hammock and an early Black-whiskered Vireo. At Flamingo, wintering birds continue to linger with singles of Northern Harrier, American Kestrel, and Scissor-tailed Flycatcher present. A single Cape May Warbler was the 9th warbler species for the day. Eco Pond should get better as shorebird migration progresses, but today it was home only to many Black-necked Stilts and a single Greater Yellowlegs.
