Hooverized at Cape Florida! Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP was extremely quiet this morning. My guess (based on nothing remotely intellectual) is that the front line was late enough to allow birds to leave us on a south wind, but early enough to block birds leaving Cuba with the wind shift too late to push birds eastward to the Key. Perhpas the birds that left in early evening had to park in Belle Glade.
Crandon Beach's shorebird and gull numbers dropped dramatically but 5 Black-necked Stilts (unusual for the beach) were resting and 10 Least Terns showed up.
