This a.m. I was able to see my Painted Buntings through the scope in open light sitting at my feeder through the the scope. It is interesting that now I am seeing some blue/reddish feathers on the wings/tails of two more buntings. Yesterday I called them the green ones. The belly is a brighter color than the remaing two green buntings. We shall see if the color change continues and they are immature males. The scope and good lighting are a big help. I saw my little hummer this a.m.. I am changing the nectar in the feeders every two days with the higher temperatures. I am not seeing her at the flowers anymore as the Firespike blooms she was previously feeding from are in decline. My Firebush has few blooms at this point as it is in the shade.
