The owl nest is in the mahogany tree right at the point where the parking lot meets the in-road. Look for the "bus-trailer" parking area and you are there. This would be the northwest corner and you could probably park your van at and angle and never have to get out. Check with the ranger for permission on this score. Depending on which way the owls "rest" you might have to not use the van. Pictures are accesible east to west, north to south, and in the afternoon west to east. You have a good view with a power lens (400-600) that can take you through the branches nicely. While you are scoping note the large presence of lac scale on the smaller branches. I recommend for you the 8:30 opening time before the crowds build up. Happy hunting. We got some great pictures of the baby owl playing with its food which appeared to be a gallinule leg/thingh.
