While my teammate was off to Ft. DeSoto, I spent Sunday doing a practice birdathon. Next weekend we will be trying to top the standard set by both the Bithorn/Purdy/Rapoza team and by Alex. They are not making it easy!

The day ended up being cut a bit short after Tigertail due to a combination of inadequate planning (I had more time than planned birding locations) and the dubious condition of my left rear tire (sporting 2 nails!). Nonetheless, I managed 128 species (probably 129, but I wasn't 100% sure on the silent Long-billed Dowitcher), including some parrots seen the previous evening. Interestingly, I didn't get the migrants being seen at Ft. DeSoto.
