Hello -

My sister and I will be birding in the Keys and across South Florida for about a week, starting this Friday, April 23. We would greatly appreciate any advice we could get on where and when to best see the following key species for our trip. We have Bill Pranty's book and the information from the Tropical Audubon Society and Caloosa Bird Club web sites, so we are looking for current updates.

Mangrove Cuckoo

Snail Kite - is the roost just west of the Miccosuckee Restaurant active at this time of year?

Limpkin

Short-tailed Hawk

Smooth-billed Ani - Is the Fort Lauderdale Airport area still the best bet (we have the 3/29 directions)?

Antillean Nighthawk

Red-cockaded Woodpecker & Bachman's Sparrow - is Babcock Webb our best bet?

Gray Kingbird, Black-whiskered Vireo, and White-crowned Pigeon are also key, but it seems these are common enough that we will probably find them without going to a special location?

Thanks in advance for your help.
