On a combined birding expedition covering my place, a kayak trip at 9-mile pond, and Everglades National Park down to Flamingo, we tallied a total of 66 birds yesterday.

A Limpkin was heard, but not seen. At Mazrak Pond we observed Blue-winged and Green-winged Teal and an adult & immature Black-crowned Night Heron, At West Lake were about 30 Blue-winged Teal and about 20 Northern Shovelers.
We finished the day traveling to Flamingo where we observed a Immature Bald Eagle sparring with 2 Ospreys, a Kestrel, Red-shouldered Hawks, Brown Pelicans, Reddish Egret, Roseate Spoonbill, Willets, Spotted Sandpipers, Marbled Godwits, Dunlins, Laughing, Ring-billed, and Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Caspian Terns, about 200 Black Skimmers, Mourning Doves, White-winged Doves, European Starlings, Great-crested Flycatcher, House Wren (heard), and Prairie Warblers.
