Gillivray's Warbler took me about 5 seconds to spot this morning at 9AM. That's never happened to me before. Anyway, I followed Toe's directions and carefully walked down and off the levee and into a clearing where I saw several birders about 75 feet away standing poised and ready with bins, scopes and cameras. I walked 20 feet, turned to the left, and boom, the MacGillivray's popped up into an open spot in the vines. Sweet. It was a satisfying look. I could easily see the prominent white eye arcs, the blue-gray hood, greenish above and yellow below. Nice bird. That should keep some of us from whining.....for a day or two. :) Thanks A & M for the warning about the loose footing off the levee. The path down is now a well-worn slip and slide.
