I noticed warblers feeding in an olive tree when returning to my office in the DM building around 4 this afternoon. A bit later I scanned the tree with binoculars from my office, finding Palm, Prairie, Parula, Cape May, and Blackpoll.
Before heading home, I decided to check the area around the small pond next to the DM building. Good move! I immediately heard a Worm-eating calling. By the time I was done, I had found 12 warbler species.
Totals near DM were: Northern Parula (2), Cape May Warbler (1 or 2), Myrtle Warbler (1), Prairie Warbler (2-3), Palm Warbler (7+), Blackpoll Warbler (3), Black-and-white Warbler (2), American Redstart (1), Worm-eating Warbler (2), Ovenbird (1), Northern Waterthrush (1), Louisiana Waterthrush (4).
