This is a particularly good opportunity to see (and photograph) this difficult species up close. This morning it came within four feet of the boardwalk. To find the rail, go to the hut on the north end. Look for any movement amongst the reeds approx. 10 yards east of the hut on the same side (south) of the boardwalk as the hut. Be patient as the bird may be in hiding when you get there, but it will appear by and by. This morning it took 20 minutes of waiting before it appeared, but then it stayed viewable for an hour between 8:30 and 9:30 AM. Three days ago it was even out at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Several Soras are in the same area.
