Cooper's Hawk resident on Fort Lauderdale Beach

About two weeks ago I was riding my bike on A1A just before dark when I turned to corner at the Swimming Hall of Fame and almost ran over a hawk eating a dove. The hawk grabbed the dove and flew to the corner of the field there. I went to the other corner of the field to watch, when two pedestrians walked a few feet from the hawk. The hawk just continued to eat. And the pedestrians glanced and just walked on, like it was something they see everyday.

Today driving home I saw a hawk fly very low over A1A at the same location, so thought to post this.

No photos, but here is a link to a Cooper's Hawk (shot at 200mm by Illinois wildlife photographer Bryan Hix) chasing a rabbit and also apparently not bothered by humans.
