After the Miami Hurricane thrashing of the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday afternoon, full of piss and vinegar (6 beer-birds), I returned to A.D.Barnes in hopes of reaching the vaunted 20 warbler species mark for one day. Added only 1 confused, fallen Blackpoll Warbler, but the Miller Highlight of my return was the very trusting male Hooded Warbler that came within 6 inches of my feet, while feeding on insects in the detritus below the Brazilian Peppers. He also was drinking from an aluminum pan full of water along the path. A Merlin and Laughing Gull rounded out the daylist at A.D. Barnes at 51 species.Life is good................ especially when birding with my old pal and fellow Hurricane fan,Bill Boeringer.
