My other obsession is astronomy, so if this were an astronomy forum, you'd be reading about M ##, NGC ####, IC ###, ABELL ##, Barnard ##, Terzan ##, Palomar ##, and others, and no, most of these do not have common names, so if one doesn't want to learn the technical terms, then one is not an astronomer. A little technicalness never hurt anyone.
