Then, who planted the native trees and shrubs at the perimeter. If that wasn't the flood control people it would suggest that they are open to some conversation on the topic. Else, how did that vegetation get planted? How about TAS picks a rep for a sit-down to discuss this. It might be in everybodys'interest.
Here at Hoechoka Hammock (Sawgrass & University) we worked a deal with DOT to NOT BUILD a sound barrier along the Sawgrass fronting the church and instead gave us easement rights to maintain the land and a budget to plant native trees and shrubs. Everone benefited even the taxpayers that saved $229,000 for that cement portion of sound proofing.
