Cat location:

Unlike many birds, mammals are very sensitive to human encroachment so I'll not be giving "directions" to "see" the bobcats. The last time I saw them there was a crowd of 20 plus loud, obnoxious but well meaning people there inside of 5 minutes. The bobcat left in the next 5 minutes.

OTOH you can see some clues in the photo as to where it was hanging out yesterday....

I have seen them in more than 5 different locations including on some of the swampy islands though so if you keep your eyes open you can get lucky.

If you do see the bobcat please do not go trumpeting it about, pointing, shouting or otherwise behaving as if you are in Disney World. I can assure you that if 3 other people notice you standing there there will be amongst them at least one deaf, blind, mental defective that will insist on shouting "there he is" to all passers by without the need for prompting! ;) I really do understand that I may be preaching to the Choir here but today's experience has shown me that the Choir could use a bit of "practice."

If on the other hand you are somewhat circumspect you could see the bobcats for over 30 minutes at a stretch....

BTW -- I would rate these bobcat as "tame" but "flash intolerant" since if there is no flash use they tend to stay put for an extended time... departure after flash use is pretty quick though, in both recent cases under a minute....

Good Luck, and Good "Hunting"

All the best,

Grover
