The back of the bird was solid chestnut brown without any markings at all. The shape of the head as well as beak seems not to match Blue Grosbeak. The bird I saw had a smaller beak and had a rounded forehead. The forehead and beak were not in the same alignment as seen on the Blue Grosbeak. The thing that stood out for me was the uniformity of color. I did not see any markings anywhere. The color of chestnut was very rich and deep(a very attractive bird). It was something I have not seen before. On a very poor quality picture I took it appears the small part of the belly that shows as being unmarked but slightly lighter. I question this as through my binoculars I did not see a light belly. The throat/breast were the same dark chestnut. I hope it is still there for more people to see.
