Sorry I didn't post this earlier but I was in Coot Bay several weeks ago and there were huge rafts of ducks on the eastern side of the Coot Bay in Everglades National Park. I was able to ID:
Mottled Duck
Northern Pintail
American Widgeon
Northern Shoveler
Blue-winged Teal
Ring-necked Duck
Lesser Scaup
Red-breasted Merganser
Hooded Merganser (2 males)
There were many hundreds of American Coots as well. I launched my canoe in Coot Bay Pond and got flipped by two killer attack manatees that were in the creek. I didn't see them and skidded right up on top of one of them. Gentle Giants my ass!!!!! The water in Coot Bay is nearly fresh and I even managed to catch some Largemouth Bass while casting the mangrove shoreline.
