Rock and I got there early this morning and walked down the berm in search of sparrows, but the birds were hunkered down, probably due to the wind and threatening rain. Mimi joined us as we walked down the dirt path towards the green mound. Before getting halfway, we got a quick look at a Dickcissel. At that point, we see Paul B, Anil, and Allison looking at something back towards where the dirt road leads back to 168 St. We went to join up with them and they tell us they had just seen an Orchard Oriole. In a few minutes we spotted it again and got great looks. This is an excellent find for this time of year. We then went back in the direction of the mound and found the Dickcissels. Just then, the rains came and we could bird no more. There were sparrows around, but we just didn't get the chance to really work the area. The gray skies with constant drizzle followed by all-out rain made for idea photography!
