Robin and I birded the C-357 Sparrow fields this morning in hopes of turning up some more birds in this area. Highlights included at least four Dickcissels midway along the path leading up to the two weedy, green mounds, plus several Clay-colored Sparrows and at least one Lincoln's Sparrow seen from the berm. Indigo Buntings seemed to outnumber Painted Buntings. Judging by last year, most of these birds should still persist into the first two weeks of March.
