Today while doing our usual bird stroll around campus we had two American Goldfinch fly in off the bay and land high in a tree. There were more flying with them but only two stopped. They did not stay long after realizing we were the ones pishing, they lifted off and headed for some Australian Pines on the west side of campus. Keep your eyes and ears open, birds are on the move. We saw our first Purple Martin of the year yesterday which ironically also flew in over the bay.
