Started in Alachua County, the June Challenge is just that: a challenge to find as many bird species in your county during June, our "slowest" month for birding here in Florida. Last year, our team took top state honors I think with 139 countable species and 19 more non-countable exotics.
Although it's still 4 months away, we've already got our team together for this year's June Challenge, and we've got a real crack team assembled to make sure we bring back the gold for our county. Our team is a who's-who of S. Florida birding, we've got:

Unfortunately, Rudy Duck and Robert "Bob" White won't be able to join us this year due to commitments out of the state. We'll miss you guys!
I'll be sure to keep the board up to date on our team's progress. We plan to spend the next couple of months doing some scouting and formulating our game plan. Bring on the Challenge!!
