At 0910 this a.m. I relocated the Nashville Warbler. This time it was located with a feeding flock right by the where the visitors building is located. It was in 0ne of the bare trees surrounding the sandy play area. I saw it fly to another tree in the area so got good looks at it twice. It was with a good sized feeding flock. The birds appeared very suddenly as previously near the 78th ave. trail it was very quiet. The loud drone of mowing equipment could be heard, possibly sending them towards the visitor center. Other birds present were Black-throated Green Warbler,Prairie Warbler, Pine Warblers,Palm Warblers,Great-Crested Flycatcher, Eastern Phoebes,Red-bellied Wood peckers (two at the birdhouse directly in front of the visitors building on a geen pole),Yellow-throated Vireo,Blue-headed Vireo,White-eyed Vireo,Blue-gray Gnatcatchers,Blue Jays,Northern Cardinals, Painted Bunting, and Monk Parakeets (flyovers). Yesterday Roxanne and I saw the Hermit Thrush at the 78th ave. trail.
