Not a rarity, but a nice sighting nonetheless: While we were eating breakfast this morning in our apartment on Miami Beach, Alison found an immature Peregrine sitting on top of the 6-floor apt building next to us (50 yds away, 10 ft above). It had a bloody, shredded Rock Pigeon in its talons. We watched it from our balcony for about 5 minutes until a few Turkey Vultures started circling. After nervously watching the vultures for a few minutes, the Peregrine flew off northward, carrying the carcass with it (before I had digiscoped pictures). Nice way to start the day!
