I had posted this in response to a story by Toe, but I decided since this is a very popular birding spot, this ought to be a main post. Old Ingraham Highway or Gate 15 (the trail past Anhinga and just before Research Road in ENP for anyone who does not know) will be temporarily closed from Jan 18th onward. For alternatives, Research Road and a few trails along it are very productive and many of the trails near the Florida Bay/Flamingo end of the park have been recently cleared and are a delight to walk.
