Trip Report TAS North Broward Saturday January 22, 2011

A group of 24 met at Easterlin Park, where the group was rewarded with good looks at a Summer Tanager. Next stop was Warbler Wetlands, where the group added a Black-throated Blue Warbler and a Sharp-shinned Hawk. At the Westin Hotel the group was escorted by an escargot eating Limpkin. We added a Hooded Warbler (by voice), although the bird came within a few feet in the dense underbrush, no one got a look. After our great lunch at a cover pavilion at Sunset Park we viewed 10 Purple Swamphens, Glossy Ibis and Wood Stork at the City Furniture marshes. At Woodmont Natural Area the group added Yellow-throated Warbler, Parula Warbler, many Pine Warblers, and a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
