Raul Urgelles and I visited Tigertail Sunday afternoon. We missed the avocet, but did see the Least Terns, as well as Forster's, Caspian and Royal. Northern Gannets were numerous offshore; there were a couple of Magnificent Frigatebirds as well. We also saw seven Black-necked Stilts, the first that I can recall seeing at Tigertail. Other shorebirds seen:
Black-bellied Plover
Snowy Plover
Wilson's Plover
Semipalmated Plover
Piping Plover
American Oystercatcher
Willet
Marbled Godwit
Ruddy Turnstone
Red Knot
Sanderling
Western Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Dunlin
Short-billed Dowitcher

We also had the Bronzed Cowbirds at Eagle Lakes Park, a pair of Burrowing Owls on Kendall Drive after leaving Tigertail, and a Swallow-tailed Kite soaring over SR 92.
