The Brown-crested Flycatcher seen earlier this year is still present at Lucky Hammock, accompanying two Great Crested Flycatchers right along the edge of the hammock facing Aerojet Road. In about and hour of birding, I had four warbler species (Palm Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Prairie Warbler, and Common Yellowthroat) and two sparrow species (Savannah and Grasshopper Sparrows), along with White-eyed and Blue-headed Vireos. Diversity seemed really low.

An hour walk around Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park turned up the usual assortment of birds, including four Purple Gallinules, an American Bittern, and a single dark morph Short-tailed Hawk soaring with the kettles of Turkey Vultures.
