ENP - Smooth-billed Ani at Anhinga Trail

I went this morning early to collect a Bird of the Day and do some photography. I started on Research Rd. and picked up all the expected subjects. I then headed to Royal Palm and walked Anhinga Trail for photo ops... at the back of the board-walk where the deck spurs off to the pond and dead-ends I saw and photographed a Smooth-billed Ani. I actually heard it calling prior to seeing it otherwise I may have overlooked the bird.

After seeing the usual at Royal Palm I went to the Visitor Center and took a look at Paul Marcellini photographic art being displayed till the end of January. He does some really nice work with landscape photography and dramatic light. Well worth seeing if you are going to the park in January.
