Short-eared Owls at Lucky Hammock, 1/5

I heard from Larry that someone saw a Short-eared Owl at Lucky Hammock this morning just after you turn onto Aerojet Road from 9336. I headed down this afternoon and arrived at sunset and found three birders from Maryland already there. They told me that last night they had seen two fly out from the area with all the heavy equipment towards the large field to the north of 9336. Just after 6:00 PM, 2 Short-eared Owls flew over the main road, just like the night before. A little earlier, 4 Lesser Nighthawks flew overhead going east. After it got dark, I searched for Whip-poor-wills and found two next to Lucky Hammock and another along 9336 just east of Aerojet Road.
