most of my birding lately has been from behind the windshield, but for the benefit of David L i have the following contribution: this morning i saw a light morph Short-tailed Hawk near where the turnpike crosses Campbell Drive in Homestead. i have seen it (or another just like it) in the same area several other times over the past couple weeks.
i have not been to the keys for the hawk watch, but there has been a lot of raptor movement over Everglades NP. in the past week i have seen several Peregrines, Merlins, and Sharpies, plus a few Broad-wings and Cooper's. also, there was a Red-tail over the field next to fla city wal-mart last thursday. that's all for the Raptor report, keep on birdin'
