We observed the bird for most of Wednesday and Thursday and also had the chance to talk to some of the local business owners. From all the owners we talked to so far they are all fascinated that the bird is here and impressed by the turn out a bird can create. As in everything business and pleasure don't mix, as was were leaving yesterday one of the owners asked to speak with us. He mentioned that he had spoken to a couple of the other local business owners and they are ok with us there so long as we don't interfere with their businesses.

They have asked for birders to please drive to the bend in the parking lot where it is always empty as not to take up their customer parking spaces. They have also asked to please not take up their parking spaces with camera/video on tripods. In addition (as there are signs posted) please do not trespass into the lake. The bird has not been very cooperative for photography as it mainly stays far out so please do not use that as an excuse to trepass into the lake or cow pastures!

They have also expressed a huge concern about safety in the parking lot as the owner observed a birder yesterday (which he knows who he is) trying to race past our car on the left side. He expressed that this can be very dangerous with pedestrians especially inside the parking lot. He did tell us yesterday if he were to observe anything like this we would no longer be able to use their parking lot to view the lake!

We ask for birders, photographers and videographers cooperation to please respect the business owners wishes as we have been birding this business lake for the past five years and have never had any issues with the business owners. Reality of it if they wanted to prohibit us from birding at this spot they can as it is a private business lake and parking lot. So please please be courteous and respectful!

If we lose the parking lot vantage point, most of the lake would not be visible nor would the duck...Thanks.

Nature is Awesome
