Barnes was fairly quiet on Saturday morning -- Elena and I had 6 species of warblers, nothing spectacular but large numbers of Palms, which seem to be staging for a push north. Also had a Blue-headed Vireo, and most unusual was a Sharp-shinned Hawk standing contentedly in the water in the Nature Center pond, and allowing us to approach within about 10 feet! The hawk was not actively bathing, or holding down prey--it was just standing there....

Sunday in the yard (Falls area) had the usual suspects including Hill Myna and Spot-breasted Oriole, plus an outstanding FOTS male Baltimore Oriole (credit my tab, Robin...). The wintering Cooper's Hawk is still around, much to the dismay of yet another CoDo, last seen tearing south at rooftop level with the hawk in hot pursuit.
