OK, this is puzzling. There is half (closer to 3/4) of a Least Bittern on the sidewalk in front of my building in downtown Miami. The bittern was obviously captured by a predator as evdent from the conditions of the remains, but why would it end up here so far from any place that has suitable habitat. Are they found at Bill Baggs or VA Key? We have a winer resident Peregrine Falcon that feeds on the upper floors of the building, but would it go far to catch a Least Bittern and return it here? Just curious. BTW, yes, I do own the building.
