Morning at Green Cay

Hooded merganzers now gone from Outback lake on Southern Blvd. But our sorrow was assuaged by some Zinfindel, Kendell Jackson, November 2010 vintage. That was "bad news too."

Green Cay produced bobcats with young, scaup (greater?) and quite a few blue-winged teal as well as green-winged teal. Scores of mottled ducks and several "rafts" of coot.

Harriers, red-shouldered hawks and peregrines stayed a distance away but could be heard calling or were visible with binoculars.

And, as usual, the Green Cay "grey card" of cumulus moved in at 7:45 AM and remained until 10:30. That sheet of cloud cover right over Green Cay is a vexation!
