I was up to Vero Beach Estates for Christmas dinner and went over to Viera wetlands 12-24 pm and 12-25 am. Water levels are extremely low. Nothing unusual, but Hooded Mergs, Ring-neck ducks, Shovelers, Blue and Green Wing Teals, Black Crowned NH, two Bald Eagles etc. On 12-26 we went am to Viera and got blown away by the wind gusting to 45 mph but not blown away by the birds. At 3pm we went to MINR drive thru and virtually nothing except three Reddish Egrets, one was a white phase. The water levels are the lowest I have ever seen. Maybe dangerously low!!! But all and all it was better than being in the office. To all a Happy Holiday and may your New Year be healthy and full of good birds and lifers.
