It is a real shame that there are not any more photos to work with. If we had a shot of the front of the bird this would help with the I.D. One photo of the back of the bird with a little of the side showing, is not going to help a lot. I don't see why the bird is going anywhere at this time of year, hopefully more photos can be taken.
Based on the one photo, it still looks more like a Sanderling. The body shape, bill, legs etc.
