Hello board birders:
-Indeed the keys, particularly Key West, offered some spectacular birding this weekend. I spent Saturday chasing warblers, and Sunday chasing hawks coming up with much the same diversity as did David, Michelle, and Ralphael (sorry for blowing your cover guys... but that holistic latin thing has got to go). Bird abundance was phenomenal!
-Evidently, moon watchers on Saturday night observed large flights of silhouetted birds... indicating that many birds spent Sat. foraging and then split as conditions changed for the better. Regardless, diversity at Indigenous Park on Monday was still very good... producing 15 warbler species... Abundance, was not as spectacular as Sat., but nearer to that of Fri. (which produced 12 warbler sp.).
-Hawking on Sunday was awesome producing 125 peregrine falcons, and 300+ sharpies, and kestrels.
Peace Out
Chris
