I went for an after-work walk through Miami Metrozoo this afternoon. Not expecting to see much more than the usual Bali Mynas, Mindanao Bleeeding Heart Pigeons, and Andean Condors, I was surprised to tally all of the following:

Pied-billed Grebe
Double-crested Cormorant
Great Blue Heron
Great Egret
Snowy Egret
Tricolored Heron
Cattle Egret
Black-crowned Night Heron
White Ibis
Wood Stork
Black Vulture
Osprey
Common Moorhen
American Coot
Ring-billed Gull
Eurasian Collared Dove
Mourning Dove
Black-hooded Parakeet (8)
Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
Blue Jay
Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher
Northern Mockingbird
European Starling
Northern Parula (many)
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Palm Warbler
American Redstart
Northern Cardinal
Boat-tailed Glackle
Baltimore Oriole
House Sparrow

If you bird the zoo, try not to get run over by the Safari Cycles, the latest Metrozoo innovation.

Finally, at a gas station at the intersection of SW 152 Street and SW 137 Avenue, I saw a pair of Common Mynas. I checked carefully to make sure they were not Hill Mynas. ;)
