I'm wondering if that's a SE FL thing because over here, in SW FL, Red-breasted Mergansers are pretty much confined to saltwater and the few times I've ever seen any in freshwater have been in small estuaries very near the coast. Hoodeds are always found in freshwater over here and like I said, I've never seen both at the same site at the same time and as far as I know, I don't know anyone else who has either. . . .
