Great news that the La Sagra's Flycatcher is cooperative! "Buddy" the very pale Great Crested Flycatcher appears similar to one that hung out with last winter's La Sagra's. It's not necessarily a young bird, since young Great Crested's can only be differentiated from adults by subtle feather shape, molt limits, cinnamon wing-feather edging and slightly more rufous in the tail. Even these characteristics can't always be seen in the hand. According to Pyle's _Identification Guide to North American Birds_, South Florida birds "... average shorter-billed and paler, but differences are too slight for subspecies recognition." Buddy is probably just an extremely pale bird.
