Great photo, Paul. You capture not only the appearance of the Eastern Meadowlark, but also its typical aspect and habitat.
: This pretty little guy (Eastern meadowlark)gets no press at all. Which is too bad since this bird is exceptionally tolerant of close approaches. He seemed more interested in us then we were in him. Check the weed field 70 feet south of the Vermilion Flycatcher wire perch station. The bird is generally hidden in the biden bushes.
