There are still at least four Redheads in the rock pit in south Dade with either scaup or Ring-necked Ducks. Philip and I saw the Redheads on the northwest corner at 3:30 p.m. yesterday. The scaup or Ring-necked ducks were at the far eastern end of the lake. I was not able to tell which species because of the distance. The birds may be nervous and move around with the construction as well as a dive bombing Peregrine Falcon that we saw. There were at least 40-ducks on Tuesday.
On the north side of s.w. 328 st. about half a mile west of s.w. 137 ave. were nine Lesser Scaup. This is the triangle shaped lake with houses on the north side. I have included a photo of a male.
