Hey birders! This morning I had the chance to take a look at the place next to Matheson Hammock. Around the trail there were some very interesting birds. At first it was slow but as I got more into the trail birds started to pop up. I heard an unidentified wren. I saw two Pileated Woodpeckers on the tall trees doing there cool call. After that I saw two Red-shouldered Hawks calling, at first I thought of blue jays cause they imitate them very well but then I had the visual id of the hawk. Later in the teail where it ends I started pishing and had a warbler call. It was a zeeep, zeeeep. I finally had the chance of seeing the birds and they looked like sparrows. The place is in the tall grasses near the end. It was brownish around the whole body. They were around the big Royal Palms. Anybody has any ideas?
Well when I was leaving the trail back, I though of going into a secondary trail and started piching. I found 2! female Black-throated Blue-warbler. I was in awwww. Well I hope everybody can come and see this place when you have a chance. It should very productive in spring. I can't wait to check it out in spring especially for Connecticut Warbler. I dream too much. LOL. Well happy birding!
