Liz Golden (park biologist) and I are compiling bird sightings for Bill Baggs CAPE FLORIDA SP for dates pre-Andrew (1992). "The Cape" was a popular destination for birders during migration, providing many exciting sightings. Summer and winter lists will also supply solid data.
As a foundation, we have Bruce Neville's comprehensive lists as well as his wonderful cover letters to the park. Jeff Goodwin's checklist provides a bridge between pre-Andrew and 1994. David Lysinger has given us very interesting data from his personal records. In addition, we will glean information from "Florida Field Naturalist." Tropical Audubon Society did not keep records for specific locations so we ask birders in the community to help us by adding their personal sightings.
