A Short-tailed Hawk (dark) was seen over Driftwood Middle School today 12/1 at 2:00 p.m. Driftwood is east of University and north of Sheridan Street, Hollywood, FLorida. The school is on 70th Ave. I have had Red-shouldered, Red-tailed, Broadwing, and Coooper's Hawk in the last week. Also American Kestrel and a Peregrine 2 weeks ago. The close by canal, cementary and park area nearby seem to provide just enough habitat for some great birds. It also a good place to look for Black Hooded Parakeets on the wires later in the day now and again.
