I stopped by C-111e canal yesterday and found what I'm reasonably certain is a Gopher Tortoise (I've got some pictures back home). I'm curious if this has any impact on conservation/planning in this area.
Birdwise it was slow but morning is usually much better here. There was a Least Flycatcher calling (soft "whit") and a couple Great-horned Owls hooting back and forth.
